WebRTC: Jennins (cisco) a Kaufman(Skype,Microsoft)

Hay cierta tension en el grupo de trabajo de WebRTC porque un miembro del grupo (empleado de Skype/Microsoft ) , coincidentemente con un buen ritmo de trabajo y proximas implementaciones de WebRTC, envio al grupo una especificacion que "reemplaza" a la actual especificacion en la que estuvieron tabajando durante todo el a#o !
Sin pelos en la lengua, el chair de RTCWeb en la IETF, Cullen Jennings ( empleado de Cisco ) le dijo lo siguiente a Matthew Kaufman (empleado de Skype/Microsoft):

Hm, this is in stark contrast to the feedback I have received (from
literally hundreds of people).

It is obviously of critical importance to me that HTML5 addresses the
needs of the wide Web community. Clearly, we have received different
feedback from different parts of this community. I would like to receive
feedback from the the people to which you have been talking. Would it be
possible for you to point me in the right direction to obtain this feedback?
Are there mailing lists where it would be appropriate to request
constructive feedback from these people?

Do you have any suggestions for how we could obtain a representative
sample of people to determine once and for all what fraction of experts in
the Web standards community are in favour of the current direction of
HTML5 and what fraction are opposed to it?

Google Chrome OS

Se cierra el circulo?

Google zeitgeist 2008

Analizando un poco el Zeitgeist de Google del año que se va ( 2008 ) parecería ser y digo "parecería" porque  es un análisis sin mucho doble-chequeo, que:

. somos los únicos que tenemos "dolar" entre las búsquedas

. tenemos 2 periódicos en las búsquedas mas populares + emergentes ( "critica", "clarin" ) , Brasil no tiene ninguna y probablemente los otros países tampoco ... para que leeremos tanto el diario? por
masoquismo?

. no vi otro país que tenga búsquedas tipo xxx entre las mas populares ni emergentes .... nosotros tenemos "poringa"

. en general parece que todo el mundo usa internet para ( en orden de importancia ):

   . buscar entretenimiento ( "juegos", "youtube", "videos", "games","musica" )

   . hacer sociales ( "gmail", "facebook", "orkut", "hotmail","fotolog" , etc )

   . enterarse de alguna noticia "bomba" ( "obama", "katrina", etc )

   . usar algunos servicios ( "weather", "traductor", "ebay", etc )

Un caso especial es el de United Kingdom que aparece "jobs" ( estará subiendo el desempleo allá? )

Google Chrome en Ubuntu 8.04 via Wine

Como muchos sabrán Google sacó un browser propio: Google Chrome !! pero solo en Windows... están trabajando para sacar las versiones de Linux y Mac.

Siguiendo los pasos en esta guía lo pude correr en Ubuntu 8.04 ( vía Wine ).

Primer problema: no corre https ( esta reportado en los comentarios del sitio mencionado, parece ser un tema de que las DLL de ssl en Wine son solo stubs )

Lo demás parece que mas o menos anda :-)

Requiere instalar wine >= 1.1.3 [1]

Me gusta lo de buscar en la barra de direcciones ... simplifica la UI.
